The 30th annual Women in Wales event raised over £30,000!
The prestigious Women in Wales Charity lunch events have raised over a million pounds for their chosen charities since its inception in 1994. This year, the sold-out lunch event took place on the 26th April 2024 at Mercure Holland House Cardiff and raised over £30,000, that was kindly donated to three incredible charities.
Fund-raising activities included; a raffle, a silent auction and a live auction hosted by the hilarious Steve Speirs. Items in the auction included, money can’t buy experiences,. The Welsh Fashion Designer, Jayne Pierson, generously donated an auction prize of tickets for her runway show during London Fashion Week. In addition to this Jayne, joined Sian Lloyd, host of the event, on stage for a Q&A offering incredible insights into her career past, present and future.
The board were delighted to present the chosen charities with the donations of £19,000 to the Sir Gareth Edwards Cancer Charity and £10,000 to the Paul Satori Hospice at Home charity. £1,000 was also donated to MPCT for their help on the day. The formal cheque presentation took place at a drink’s reception hosted at Pyle Garden Centre.
The annual lunch event this year was kindly supported by JCP Solicitors, Laings, Pinc Sheep Media, Dynamo, LHP, Foredowel and Porshe Centre Cardiff. The room was full of mulicoloured sheep adoining each table as a the most nove, table centres from Ewemoo, who generoulsy donated the footstools for people to win or purchase. Lyons Bowe Solicitors kindly sponsored the table wine, Pure Cyber came on board this year as the Entertainment sponsors and Wickedly Welsh Chocolates once again generously donated table gifts.
As we plan our 2025 luncheon, we remain proud to host one of the most distinguished and recognised events in Welsh womens’ business and social calendars, held in recognition and celebration of the achievements of Women in Wales.
